Here’s how I’m able to help you

how I'm able to help you Melissa McLaughlin

The world can sometimes feel cold and dark. How quickly a day that began in sunshine and warmth can evaporate like mist in the wind. How can you rekindle the embers of your soul and keep your heart glowing?

How I'm Able to Help You Melissa McLaughlin

During the darkest times of my life, it was the heart and words of Jesus that carried me through. In times of great desperation when I found I had no voice left to pray, God helped me use scriptures to express the cries of my heart through prayer. The voice of Jesus, found in the holy scriptures of the Bible, became my voice and my prayer. The more I sought Jesus in the pages of the Bible, the more I found Him to be near. If you are going through a difficult time or if you want to infuse more fire into your prayers, you can find out more about the process I used for praying fervent, passionate, Spirit-filled, Bible-based prayers in my book: In Dark of Night When Words Fail.

Follow me here on my website! Out of overwhelming gratitude to Christ, I share devotional writings, prayers and poems inspired by His Word and His Spirit.

My prayer is that every word I write will illuminate the truth, grace and beauty of Jesus and draw you near His heart, or if you are already close to Him will draw you closer still. Let your heart be warmed again with Bible-based, Spirit-led words of encouragement, refreshment and inspiration.

In Dark of Night When Words Fail, Voice of Jesus Pray for Me

Join me in this journey as we run toward Christ! When our connections include Jesus, His Spirit and His Word, they go deeper, ripple farther and have true lasting power. Together we can help one another radiate the warmth of Jesus and stoke the fire of our devotion to Him!

  1. It’s quite encouraging to read your words. It’s amazing that we read the same Bible in different languages, living in different places around the world, but still can worship and praise the same God every day. Keep going, you are making a positibe influence.

  2. Dear Melissa,
Isn’t it wonderful to experience the very words of our Lord and Savior in our own hearts and lives?
A day without them would be not eating, no provision for life or guidance. You are a blessing from the Lord to those who read. I praise Him for leading me to find another child of His. Blessings as we all continue to walk with Him together. 🙂

  6. My husband and I were recently victims of a robbery and shooting. Our faith was a comfort and strength for us. I used to be angry at God if something bad happened. Now I try to focus on how He is using the situation to teach me.

    • Dear Robin, I’m so sorry to hear about that terrible event that happened to you. I’m trying to learn from my difficulties and sorrows, as well. It’s not always easy. But God can draw us closer to Himself through it all and then use our scars to help others through their times of need. May God bless you and your husband and give you peace His peace.
