By Melissa McLaughlin
I hear you, oh glistening moon
Hanging way up there by nothing at all
Displaying your hushed radiance
Bold and steady, singing through dark night skies with silver white force
Outshining city lights with the brilliance of angels
A call to see
To see
Not your own vast glowing beauty
But a call to see the One who made such
A call to see the One who glows brighter still
At first glance, all is silent
Sing again, oh glistening moon, sing again
The world needs your song
The world waits for your song
The world wonders at your song
Slowly your nightly chorus rises
Then echoes out again and again…
Glory to God, oh heavens and earth!
Glory to God!
Glory to God, oh sun, moon and stars!
Glory to God!
Glory to God, oh peoples of the earth!
Glory to God!
Psalm 8:3-4, 8 – When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? Oh Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth.
Psalm 67:3 – May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.
