Thankful for Amazing Grace

I am grateful beyond words for each of you who take the time to read, write and encourage me and everyone here in our walk with the Lord Jesus! I had no idea the blessings I would receive in this Christian blogging community. Thank you for helping me see Christ and the power of God’s Word through your thoughtful, loving, truthful reflections.

A big thank you to The Eclectic Contrarian and Alethea’s Mind who nominated me for this thankfulness challenge. You are both an inspiration to me day after day!

Though my heart is overflowing with gratitude for God’s many blessings, this challenge is unique. List your thankful ABC’s.

Here goes:

Amazing grace! This grateful sinner was once blind. Blind to God’s sovereignty and holiness. Blind to God’s power and truth. Blind to my own selfish sinfulness. But for Christ, all would be lost. Dead to sin and empty for all eternity, but grace, that amazing grace, captured my heart and drew me in. Just in time, His kindness and love moved my heart and mind near to the cross and opened the door for his thorn-pierced brow to quiet my soul in reverent stillness with a deep knowing that despite my sinful ugliness the beauty of His blood now runs through my veins. What joy! What extraordinary joy! When I yielded my life to Jesus, He traded His purity for my sin. I am made clean and now heaven awaits me forever! Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.

Friends, if you have the time and think this would be an opportunity to draw from your heart wells of gratitude, please receive the honor and participate in this tag.

  1. Oh Melissa, this is so beautiful! And I thank you for thinking of me, but I have to pass this time. My days are paced by Him, and I know it’s best for me. Even when I miss joining in, He lets me know that I can still join in by reading and enjoying your beautiful words! Blessings to you Dear Sister! You are such an encouragement to me!

  2. Dear Melissa, how beautifully you have encapsulated God’s grace and the faith journey we must take. And this is so cleverly wrought, with all the letters of the alphabet seamlessly introduced! Thank you so much for kindly linking to and thinking of me. I’m afraid I will have to say no and pass on it, because this is already a season of overwhelm physically and mentally for me. I’m sorry I can’t squeeze one more thing in. But , God willing, I hope to be able to share my own scheduled posts and keep up with the joy of reading yours as well. Blessings and love. <3
