Poem based on Psalm 136
I arise each day by heaven’s breath.
His love endures forever.
The sun greets my eyes with morning light.
His love endures forever.
Coffee for two and prayer with my husband.
His love endures forever.
Though sorrows creep in like a shadowed stray cat.
His love endures forever.
When everything falls that once held me up.
His love endures forever.
I look to Jesus and cling to Him.
His love endures forever.
My heart sin-streaked, yet He calls me His own.
His love endures forever.
Forever is promised in glory untold.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever (Psalm 136:1 NIV).

The darkness of night surrounds me
His love endures forever
Fear creeps in and it fills the room

I give into the despair with racing heart

Why do I let the darkness control me
