Poem: Hope Blooms

By Melissa McLaughlin

Tiny crocus

In deep, dank darkness.

Breathing,

Resting,

Waiting.

Hidden glory

God’s grandeur entombed.

Hibernating,

Exhaling,

Anticipating.

Earth’s canvas

Released and ready.

Warming,

Opening,

Dawning.

Divine design

In season sacred.

Awaking,

Breaking,

Pushing.

Eternity echoes

God’s plan prevails.

Bursting,

Reaching,

Unfurling.

Gospel retold

In winter grave and spring rebirth.

Arising,

Shining,

Blazing.

Satan’s schemes

for mankind’s misery failed.

Declaring,

Atoning,

Reclaiming.

Sunlit crocus colors

Serenade with Victor’s song.

Reviving,

Flowering,

Resurrecting.

Hope blooms.

Reverberating from the depths,

proclaiming the King’s entrance,

stirring the bedrock of my heart.

For I know,

My Redeemer lives!

For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. ~Job 19:25

What reminds you of the hope we have in Christ?

Beautiful poem, Melissa. And empowering hope. You captured the progression of our confident hope in a very picturesque way. I loved it. Praise God for the life He offers.

Oh how beautiful, Melissa. I’m saving this to reread. The beauty of creation helps me remember hope in Christ. Especially sunsets. That’s always been my favorite. God bless dear friend.

This is a beautiful message. God's creations are evident in every moment. From the new flowers bursting out of the soil to the songs of birds singing, there is something about God's creations that soothes the soul. Have a blessed day! :-)
